ShopDesq Mobile released by IMG Sports Technology Group

Friday, 17 June 2011

Melbourne, Australia - June 17, 2011

IMG Sports Technology Group this week launched ShopDesq Mobile, a mobile platform of our existing ShopDesq product, giving thousands of sports fans access to purchase merchandise from their smart phone.

IMG Sports Technology Group has worked closely with the AFL and its clubs to provide a mobile phone platform that allows supporters to transact from their phone in an efficient manner.

"Our analytics show us that more than 6% of all visits to our ShopDesq platform comes from a mobile phone, however the conversion of those visits to sales is much lower than what we see online" reports Jonathan Walsh, Client Services Manager at IMG Sports Technology Group. "This application aims to close that gap."

According to the latest Nielsen report, 43% of Australians now own a smart phone. There is a whole new market of people out there that use their phone to replace activities previously completed online, including email, social networking, banking and ecommerce. Mobile ShopDesq gives organisations access to those people and opens opportunities for game day marketing, mobile only promotions and other activities.

Some features of ShopDesq Mobile include -
  • Optimised to operate on mobile phone browsers
  • Can display some or all of an organisations product range
  • Mobile specific pricing options
  • Integrated with the ShopDesq console
  • No additional administration required
