Judo Joins forces with IMG Sports Technology Group

IMG Sports Technology Group (IMG STG) and Judo Federation Australia (JFA) have signed a long term agreement that will see IMG STG provide a range of technology platforms to service and enhance the sport of Judo in the future.   


Melbourne, Victoria – May 18, 2011

IMG Sports Technology Group today finalised an agreement with Judo Federation of Australia for the provision of a range of web based technology products to service and enhance the sport of Judo.

The core technology offering will be the provision of a new membership and event management system allowing the sport to better service its members and reduce volunteer administration workload by allowing members to register and pay online.  In addition, the arrangement will see the JFA receive a new web site and online ecommerce system as used by many of Australia’s largest commercial sporting entities including the AFL, NRL and NBL.

The JFA Board of Directors are looking forward to the new technology helping to raise the profile of Judo throughout the country. ‘The need for sports to effectively manage and utilize their data is becoming more important by the day. The JFA see this technology is a positive step in improving its services to its member Associations, Clubs and participants. By partnering with IMG we know we are working with a leader in the field who will be able to assist us in growing the profile of the sport.’


IMG STG National Sales Manager, Rohan Lawton, is pleased to see Judo on board. ‘The team at JFA were very thorough with their tender process which gives us great confidence that they will quickly embrace our technology and leverage it in a way that will benefit the sport.’

The roll out of the new technology has begun with the migration of data from each of the states onto the new IMG platform. IMG STG’s list of National Sports Organisations across Australia and New Zealand continues to grow with the likelihood of adding to this list in 2011.
