Wildcats link up with IMG

Wakefield Trinity Wildcats are working with one of the world’s most important marketing agencies, IMG, to create one of the most advanced Customer Relation Management systems (CRM) in modern professional Rugby League.

The Wildcats have just installed IMG’s software on their IT system at Belle Vue Stadium. This now offers the fans an on-line shop where they can buy all their Wakefield merchandise and club memberships. This new development complements the ticket-booking system that was introduced by Irish-company Ticketsolve at the start of 2010.

The installation of the IMG system will enable the Wildcats to relate far better to its fans and other customers as well as give the Engage Super League club the opportunity to ensure that its fans are constantly kept up-to-date with the latest retail and ticketing opportunities.

IMG are the market leaders in the marketing of the Olympic Games as well as other sports like Cricket, Golf, Motor Sport and Soccer,

Francis Stephenson, the Wildcats’ Operations Director, said: “IMG are the market leaders as far as sports marketing are concerned and the Wildcats are a forward-looking professional sports club, so there’s a natural fit so far as we are concerned.

“We want to make life as easy as we can for our fans and, at the same time, be the kind of company that employs the best possible business methods.

“During 2010 the Wildcats have introduced a more modern and user friendly web site; on-line ticket availability, a brand new club membership scheme and shopping as well as making available a Facebook site and Twitter output.

“We’re also engaging with i-phone ‘app’ developments and it’s essential that we remain in touch with of all these components if we want to keep pace with our rivals in Super League.

“As we look forward to the possibility of moving to a new stadium within the next 18 months, these are all exciting developments and will help ensure that the Wildcats go into the next phase of their development as a force in Rugby League in the best possible shape.”
